Custom inventory table serves as an inventory or database of items in your lab (e.g. samples, laboratory equipment, plasmids). An existing database can be imported as a .csv file (comma separated), tab separated file (.txt or .tsv) or Excel file (.xlsx) into the custom inventory table. Entries can also be exported from the custom inventory table to your computer.
In addition, columns in custom inventory table can be personalized, reordered and made either visible or hidden.
After your custom inventory table is set up, you can assign entries to different tasks or task and downstream the workflow (i.e. connected tasks with arrows). The main benefit of connecting the tasks into a workflow is to keep track of entries you are working with within the same experiment.
If you click on one particular entry in the custom inventory table, the Item information window appears, where you can see when and by whom the item was added by and which SciNote element it is associated (i.e. assigned) to.
