SciNote regularly performs two types of backups:
PostgreSQL relational database: this database is backed up using automatic Amazon AWS tools on a daily basis (once per day); we keep last 7 days of daily backups and last month of weekly backups (one per each week in past month). Additionally, we keep all monthly backups (one per each month) indefinitely.
Files: for files that are uploaded into SciNote, we use Amazon AWS S3 service. Here, we replicate all files that are uploaded into SciNote into a separate S3 server in a separate location (the data center in Dublin, Ireland). The mirroring is done with no deletion, therefore, even if you remove files from SciNote they are still stored in the mirrored data center.
