SciNote is a 21 CFR Part 11 compliant software that allows you to sign and co-sign the performed tasks which helps users to perform a typical laboratory workflow like they would with paper laboratory notebooks.
Signing the task in SciNote means locking the task. This prevents any further modifications to the task such as adding comments, results or assigning samples. To lock the task, go to the specific task and select the Lock Task button (please see the screenshot below). To lock a task you need to have one of these roles on the project: Technician, User, Owner.
You will be prompted to input your user credentials and optionally write any comments (e.g. a reason for locking the task) as is shown on the screenshot below.
Clicking Sign and lock task button will then lock the task. Once the task is locked it cannot be changed. The only actions that can be performed are unlocking the task or co-signing the task.
Unlocking the task can only be done by users that have a higher project role than the user who has signed the task or by another Owner. Co-signing can be done by users that have the same or higher project role than the user who has signed the task.
