While SciNote does not offer an integration with barcode scanners yet, use of them in combination with SciNote is possible.
If your barcode scanner supports export into any of the files such as .csv, .txt, .tsv or .xslsx, you can import the items into your SciNote inventory with relative ease.
First, create new custom columns in the inventory, including a column named Barcode – in case of text-based barcodes (e.g. only numbers) select column type Text. We prepared a short guide on how to create columns here. Please note, that the column order and names have to match between SciNote and the Excel file you are importing.
Once you have created new columns you can start importing your information from a spreadsheet (e.g. Excel sheet) to SciNote.

You can also add barcodes to the existing items in the Inventory in the same manner.
