No. SciNote does not offer an integration with barcode scanners yet, however, use of them in combination with SciNote is possible. SciNote has its own API with which you could connect your barcode scanner with SciNote. You can access the API documentation here.
You could also import the items into your SciNote inventory with relative ease if your barcode scanner supports export into any of the files such as .csv, .txt, .tsv or .xslsx.
Please note, that the column order and names have to match between SciNote and the file you are importing.
Follow the next steps to successfully import your barcodes:
- First, create new custom columns in the inventory. We prepared a short guide on how to create columns here.
- Navigate to Edit inventory as seen in the image below.
- Click on Import items to start importing your information from a spreadsheet (e.g. Excel sheet) to SciNote.
Choose the file with items to import and click Upload
- Match the columns within SciNote with those within the file you have imported.
- Import the file
